Warming Up in April
He said:
Out for a walk in the Palo Alto Hills today.
We are starting to get ready for our trip by warming up our feet.
For a change, this trip will consist of a number of day hikes from different locations.
Along the trail today, we found some ticks, a dozen boy scouts, and a turkey vulture. The turkey vulture was roosting in a tree, and the ticks were hanging out on the tips of grasses with outstretched legs. The ticks hitched a ride, but we declined their company before returning home.
The walk in England promises to have other animals to observe along the trail.
When we returned home from the hike, we saw our new neighbor, a Coopers Hawk, preening itself with fluffed up feathers. The hawk couple has a large nest in a tall tree across the street, and we have enjoyed having them around, no doubt keeping small animals on their toes.
