Travel to London, Bank Holiday Sunday, May 24

He Said:
We said goodbye to the countryside, and to Shropshire, the walking part of our trip is over.  We took a train to London today.  We have always thought that the UK train system worked very well and were reliable.  But today, our train was delayed almost an hour before reaching our station.  It seems that there was some kind of police action that was to blame, and that is not the fault of the train system.  It's odd to us how most British citizens we talk to think the trains do not work and are also too expensive, we like them a lot, much better than driving on the wrong side of the road.

Other than the handle on my suitcase breaking off, the trip today was rather uneventful and we even got to relax for a few hours on the train.  Now we are in London, we have the best performing WiFi of the trip.  Outside our hotel window, we hear the sounds of traffic and the voices of people walking the streets on this Bank Holiday Sunday.  Tomorrow, we go and explore the urban landscape.

She Said:
Train from Craven Arms to Newport was late ("incident with a person on the train").
Train from Newport to London was late (but did carry 6-8 armed policemen, so I guess that's good news).
Arrived at our hotel, good digs, free Happy Hour, Italian take away from down the street.
Cold now raging.
More Mucinex.
Hopeful about tomorrow.
